Family pics

More family news. Since this is an anniversary year for me, I wanted to update our family portraits and had my favorite photographer, Michelle Rasmussen, do them for us. Check us out under blog ; ) I was really pleased with the ones with Chris and the kids. It was easy, fun and I think captured the essence of our family really well! I highly recommend her!

Spring

Finishing up soon at school with concerts ahead for my school groups.  Family life will kick into high gear as well with activities, classes and traveling to Iowa. Some fun things we have done lately were white water rafting the Salt River near Globe, AZ.  My daughter and I ran a 5.2 trail race on a rainy Saturday.
We participated in the MUSD Mark Wood Inferno Tour concert! Rock on!
Things I am looking forward to: my time, running and working out more, watching my kids swim, cooking fun meals, reading and practicing violin and cello, planning fun things to do as a family, a less crazy work schedule!

November

Beautiful Fall Sunday morning in AZ..
Our Antigua trip was really restful and beautiful. Beaches were great, good snorkelling right off every beach we visited. We had perfect weather, and made it back no problem. Adjusting to the schedule and work was more of a challenge.
This week, our bathroom renovation gets going into high gear, cabinetry is in, counter top and sink with fixtures next. We are looking for unusual lighting for above the sinks.
My choir goes to competition next weekend, and bells are furiously learning holiday music for the upcoming season. November is the quiet before...much ahead!

on fall break in Antigua

It's good to be in the sun! Been on the island of Antigua since Sunday..warm and sunny, a little light rain sometimes, but beautiful breezy mornings and white sand beaches. We rented a car so we can drive about to beaches all around the island. Our house has a pool which the kids love and while the beach is nothing spectacular there is great snorkelling outside the back yard fence.  We shopped, I am cooking a little and we are eating at roadside stands. Lots of walking, snorkeling, beach time...good for the mind and body!

TGIF+

Finished a busy week with a choir and bell concert last night. 33 singers and 44 ringers! Biggest classes ever for bells. The rang some processionals and walked in and out, some fun music in between with choral selections. I didn't have enough time to arrange for them to do things together. Next time...
now onto to festival preparation for choir and holiday music for bells!
Heading off to the islands for fall break! Looking forward to sun, surf, snorkelling and some great food!

Today

So I got to meet a wonderful photographer, Michelle Rasmussen, of wondertime photography, in Tucson.  She took many picture to help create my profile photo, gave me tips on blogs and networking with business and tips for creating connections through the internet.  Way more than I ever expected for her professional service and also a genuinely warm person!  What a delightful way to spend a Saturday morning!
I would like to create a business profile and market my experiences as a teacher, conductor and clinician for other schools, musical groups and community organizations.  My specific interest is choirs and handbell groups, all ages.  I have worked with the very young to the young at heart.  Should I be creating business brochures? business cards? web pages? all of the above?

Looking for...

So I start with a blog to educate myself to be more technologically educated.  I am hoping to create a place where I can ask questions, learn from others, share ideas & experiences, etc. related to music education, choirs, hand bells, conducting and beyond.

how do I go about finding others like me?
